But amidst the hardships, a ray of hope emerged in the form of a community-based school and the tireless efforts of the Youth Movement for Sustainable Development Sierra Leone (YoMSuD-SL).

YoMSuD-SL: Empowering Through Education

YoMSuD-SL, short for Youth Movement for Sustainable Development Sierra Leone, is an inspiring Non-Profit organization that has been making waves in the lives of underprivileged children, marginalized teenage mothers, and Youth in Sierra Leone. Through dedicated voluntary work and innovative fundraising initiatives, YoMSuD-SL is reshaping the education landscape for marginalized Youth like Mboh Mansaray.

A Beacon of Hope

Mboh’s story is a poignant testament to the impact of this remarkable Non-Profit Organization (NGO).

As a teen mom, Mboh faced discrimination and societal stigma that threatened to derail her dreams. She became an orphan at 8, years later at 14 a teen mom. Being an orphan and teen mom from a disadvantaged socioeconomic background and underrepresented group in the countryside, added more burden, stress, and obstacle to her future. But YoMSuD-SL extended a lifeline, offering her not only access to education but also the untiring support she needed to thrive academically.

In 2020 after giving birth, Mboh was supported with full academic materials and was enrolled in a community-based school, Government Senior Secondary School, Sinkunia supported by YoMSuD-SL, where she found a safe and nurturing environment to pursue her studies. YoMSuD-SL ensured she had access to essential academic resources, including textbooks, school supplies, and qualified teachers who believed in her potential.
