Gender Equality
Our mission is to create an inclusive society where women and girls have equal opportunities to thrive. We work to dismantle harmful gender norms, promote women’s leadership, and fight against gender-based violence. Our goal is to achieve gender equality by addressing systemic barriers to women’s empowerment in education, leadership, and economic participation. We’ve supported over 100 survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) through digital literacy and mentorship programs, while 50 teenage mothers have returned to school under our academic support initiative. Our gender advocacy campaigns have reached over 5,000 people.
Zero Hunger
Our mission is to promote food security through agricultural innovation, training, and the support of local food systems, ensuring all families have access to affordable, nutritious meals. Our goal is to ensure food security and eradicate hunger by empowering communities with sustainable agriculture and equitable food distribution systems. Through climate-smart agricultural training, we’ve improved food production for 1,000 farmers, increasing their crop yields by 20%. We’ve established community gardens that now provide fresh, nutritious food to over 500 households.
No Poverty
We aim to empower vulnerable populations through skill-building, entrepreneurship support, and financial literacy programs, enabling self-sufficiency and breaking the poverty cycle for future generations. Our goal is to eliminate poverty by creating sustainable income-generating opportunities for marginalized communities. In our communities, we have trained over 150 young people in vocational skills, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy. Our micro-grant program has helped over 20 families start small businesses, lifting them out of extreme poverty.
Good Health and Wellbeing
We advocate for better healthcare systems and community wellness programs, focusing on vulnerable populations such as people with disabilities, women, teen moms, adolescent girls, marginalized children and people from low-income household. We aim to provide health education and services to ensure every individual leads a healthy and fulfilling life. Our goal is to promote overall well-being by increasing access to quality healthcare services and mental health support. We’ve organized health outreach campaigns reaching over 50 rural community members, focusing on maternal health, mental health awareness, and the prevention of communicable diseases. Our partnerships with different organizations and community health workers have improved access to basic healthcare for women and children in our operational areas in Sierra Leone.
Quality Education
We strive to eliminate educational barriers by offering scholarships, mentorship, and technological training to underprivileged youth, especially teen moms, girls, empowering them to become leaders and innovators in their communities. Our goal is to provide access to quality education for all children, regardless of their socio-economic background, and empower youth to succeed academically and professionally. We’ve successfully enrolled over 100 out-of-school children into community schools in Falaba District and offered 10 scholarships to girls pursuing STEM education. Our digital literacy programs have reached over 150 students in Bo District.
Climate Action
We promote climate resilience through reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and education on the importance of environmental conservation, ensuring that our communities are equipped to face the challenges of a changing climate. Our goal is to combat climate change by empowering underserved communities and marginalized populations such as women, girls, people with disabilities with sustainable practices and advocating for environmental protection. We’ve planted over 7,000 trees, restored 200 hectares of land, and trained 250 farmers in climate-resilient practices in Falaba District. Our efforts have reduced carbon emissions in local communities by 15%.
Welcome to the Youth Movement for Sustainable Development, Sierra Leone (YoMSuD-SL). We’re not just dreaming of change; we’re making it happen!
As the founder of this dynamic youth-led community organisation, I am thrilled to invite you on a journey of empowerment, innovation, and advocacy.
In a world filled with challenges, our organisation stands tall as a beacon of hope and progress for marginalised girls, teen moms, youth, people with disabilities, and women in far-reaching, underserved communities. Through the power of technology, we’re shining a light on gender issues, empowering youth, girls, people with disabilities, and women to claim their rightful place in society.
From tackling zero hunger to promoting access to quality education, gender equality, decent employment, and combating climate change.
Our initiatives in healthcare delivery services, research, innovation, and development, as well as democratic and participatory governance, ensure that voices often left unheard are amplified and decisions are made inclusively.
But our mission goes beyond statistics and rhetoric. We’re fostering a culture where adolescent sexual reproductive health and rights (ASRHR) are respected and sexual and gender-based violence is met with zero tolerance in the communities we are serving in Africa.
So, join us as we transform communities, one click at a time. Together, let’s build a future where every individual, regardless of gender or ability, has the opportunity to thrive. Let’s create a world where empowerment knows no bounds. Welcome to the journey; the future starts now!
